Why An SSL Is So Important

      · SSL / TLS,Website Security,Websites,Safe Browsing,HTTPS Protocol

When the web first became a thing, you'd only find the odd website with an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate.

The websites that had an SSL certificate where big corporations such as Google, in times gone by, there was no option for small website owners to have an SSL certificate due to the price of them.

When Secure Sockets Layer came out and started protecting websites, it was very expensive and out of reach for most people and small businesses.

It was simply for inventive companies like Google and Microsoft, it wasn't for the little people.

Moreover, it was surprising to see a little company with a website of their own because even websites without SSL certificates because they were also expensive and in most cases needed a websites developer and they weren't cheap.

Now the tide has turned and it's suspicious if a website hasn't got an SSL and nobody will ever enter payment information without the website having an SSL certificate and of course being secure due to the obvious risks associated with doing just that.

Always note that secure websites will always have Secure Sockets Layer and will always have a padlock next to the website address or URL.

Please don't ever be tempted to go on an unsecured website as the risk involved is massive and will always come back on you.
